Home decorating is an exciting endeavor for most people. The idea of finally being able to execute all those ideas is indeed fulfilling. But usually, homeowners are so caught up in these grand ideas that they often overlook a simple yet essential aspect of having a beautiful home – lighting. Think about which bathroom lighting fixtures are best for your place. Bathroom lighting in particular is an oft-neglected part of the home decor scheme. These days, though, the bathroom is seen as one of the more major areas of the house.

Lighting Options

There are various types of lighting that can be used in the bathroom. If you’re thinking about sprucing up your bath, here are some bathroom lighting options that you can choose from:

Task Lighting. Task lighting is best for bathrooms with vanities. It is essential to provide adequate light around the vanity mirror as this is where people shave or get their make-up done.

Accent Lighting. Accent lighting is meant to direct attention to a certain area of the bathroom. Accent light fixtures may be placed in the shower, above a decorative item or at the sink area.

Ambient Lighting. Ambient lighting provides a soft glow to the interiors of a bathroom. There are varied kinds of ambient light fixtures ranging from chandeliers to recessed light fixtures. It is a good idea to install a dimmer along with these lights so that you can control light intensity.

Decorative Lighting. Decorative lighting aims to focus attention on the light fixtures themselves. Candelabras and chandeliers are examples of decorative lighting fixtures.

Small Bathrooms

Small bathrooms are a challenge to decorate when it comes to lighting. Because of the size of the bathroom, you may need to identify the location in which you can efficiently execute a lighting scheme. Many classic bathroom designs can be altered to fit your own style. Bathroom lighting can be utilized to make your small bathroom seem larger. You can install recessed ceiling lights or wall sconces. You can also place a small lamp if there is enough counter space

If it is your habit to do a bit of reading in the tub, you might want to consider bright halogen lights.

Other Tips

There are specific types of light fixtures for a given type of bathroom lighting so make sure to choose the right fixtures for your bath. Some dont think how to position recessed lights is important but it is. If you are reluctant to take on this project on your own, consult an interior designer. Designers can help you nail down your preferences and help you execute your plans so that you save time and money.

Diabetics need to be really, very careful with the foods they consume. Most require to consume precise sorts of food at particular times of day, and most are on a set calorie diet as well. It’s impossible to maintain a tally of all of this information without utilising some form of diabetic diet chart.

There are a different charts out there, and you can easily find a copy of a diabetic diet chart online, in a magazine from your local library, or from your doctor or nutritional expert. When you have a copy of a diabetic diet chart, you need to not to forget to always fill it out, especially when you first start working with the disease. Once you have gotten use to your new eating habits, you may be able to guesstimate your calories, carbs, proteins, fats, and other intake, but when you initially start out, you may need the chart. All you should do is fill in the columns for the various kinds of food you consume and the different vitamins you bring into your body.

These diabetic diet charts are especially important if you are either consuming too many calories per day or not eating as much as you should. You may be in a position to see precisely what it is you’re consuming and get a concept of precisely what amount of each meal fits into your overall diet. They are an invaluable tool, and you shouldn’t hesitate to start charting your diet straight away.

Pregnancy is a life experience like none other.

It literally engulfs your life and becomes YOU.

So, if you have an iPhone or iPod touch, of course you will want add a few pregnancy apps to your collection.

For instance…

You might be on your way to get your prenatal massage and have a baby name idea… there is an app for that, you know.

Your girlfriends may call you about baby shower gift ideas… is there an app for that?

You may want to chat with other mommies-to-be in a pregnancy forum… you can make an app for that!

iPhone Apps for Mommies-To-Be

App #1Best Pregnancy Calendar

My choice is iPregnancy from Dr. Gregory P. Moore. It will help you keep track of your pregnancy right along with your doctor!

Once your due date is established and entered, the program will keep track of your current progress in pregnancy including your:

  • Current gestational age in weeks and days (like doctors use)
  • Current gestational age in lunar months
  • Progress bar that will show you how far you have progressed
  • Current Trimester Time remaining until your due date (in weeks and days)
  • And more…

App #2Best Baby Game App

I really like playing with the app called Babyface. It is a “baby appearance predictor”. Meaning, it creates a full color graphic of what your baby may look like :) .

Now, this is for fun so don’t be surprised if it isn’t accurate. The app has an amazingly scientific explanation behind the technology which is supposed to generate the babyface… despite that mumbojumbo, it is a lot of fun.

App #3 – Best Baby Naming App

NameShake is an app I really love. It has over 19,000 names and, the coolest part, you just set a few parameters, shake your iPhone and, voila, out pops a cool baby name you never would have thought of.

My husband loves it too. We purchased quite a few baby naming books but this app is really all we needed.

Obviously, there are gobs of iPhone apps. These are just the 3 I played with the most.

I hope you like them too!
