It has been a coupleyears since my family and I have taken a holiday, especially due to tightening our belts like so many others are doing due to the economy. My only nephew asked his fiance to marry him and that is’s all it took! We found out the date the wedding was going to be held, my husband and I both had paid vacation time coming from work so we made a decision to make the trip and make it a vacation as well. So when it came time we packed out bags, loaded everything up and hit the road.
This was no small trip. Almost 1200 miles back to my childhood home city in IL so there was a lot of hours spent driving. Unfortunately not all of our problems got left behind at home. After a couple of hours of sitting the first day I had began feeling some lower stomach pain. Being completely truthful I really thought it was a combination of nerves, excitement and maybe sitting for too much time. But by the end of our first day the discomfort had become worse. We finally stopped for the night I attempted to relax and stretch out some, praying that it would improve, but there was no change. It became so bad I though we might have to go to a nearest emergency room. I made the decision to try and get a good nights rest and make the decision in the morning. Before I went to bed I called my mother to inform her where we were and what was going on with me. After describing the symptoms I was having and she told me she had the similar symptoms when she was having issues with ovarian cysts. She told me about some of the different treatment of ovarian cysts and how this one natural remedy worked best for her. So I made the decision to go to the ER that night, simply to ensure what was taking place.
I am certain all of you have experienced visiting the ER at one time during your life or another. Well, the one we went to was remarkably filled. Let me tell you, pain or no discomfort, sitting in a room full of ill and hurt people was not a excellent surrounding. The combination of all these factors really irritated my anxiety. As time passed with individuals coming out and in constantly, waiting to be seen while experiencing a great amount of discomfort it was eventually enough and I began experiencing a panic attack. All I needed to do was get out of there, discomfort or no pain. I must admit, if it was not for the support my husband gave me, in addition to the skills I had learned about overcoming panic attacks I honestly believe I would have left. 8 hours later I left feeling slightly better so far as the discomfort. The anxiety and panic had gotten better and the ultrasound confirmed I had a ovarian cyst. There wasn’t any cause for alarm though I recieved a prescription for agony if required, some guidelines on things to avoid and told to check in with my family doctor when we got back home.
We made it up to Chicago and during the following days the discomfort passed. I was still feeling a little anxiety, but it was more excitement about what precisely was going on. Actually one night we all met up and went out to eat at one of our favourite cafes. This is the sort of food you simply cannot pick up in the south where we live, so we all did quite a bit over eating that evening. My husband went a bit more overboard then he should have. I could tell as he mentioned that he required one of his remedies for heartburn before we even got back to our room. We giggled about it, but the rest of the night he was in not feeling very well due to his acid reflux and heartburn.
Actually it definitely was a great time. The Wedding was perfect and went off without a glitch. It absolutely was a event to recollect. Actually the entire vacation was one to remember. It did start off a little rocky but the time was well spent surrounded by family and buddies that we had not seen in years. That most likely was one of the best holidays the family and I took in a very long time.
