One of the most powerful tools for internet affiliate marketing content creators and article writers has been, and will continue to be, Squidoo. It’s a combination of a web 2.0 site, social network and a loose article site. It has many different features and is very important to know how to properly use and promote your Squidoo pages to get the best posssible effect.

Here are some basics. Squidoo pages are called lenses, main sections of each page can be added through modules and there are many different types of modules that you can add. Squidoo lenses rank extremely well in the search engines and some claim that this is their best feature.

First, let us mention some things that are a big no-no on Squidoo. There is zero tolerance for spam. Certain topics are off limits and you would waste your time building a lens, because it won’t be published and featured on Squidoo.

Also, lenses that are of poor quality for a long time may end up being deleted so watch out and keep the quality high.

You need to give out real, quality content that is of use and interest to readers. Quality is the best policy, as people would say. Spammy lenses with trashy content are not tolerated on Squidoo. If you plan on making a real solid income from Squidoo, you need to make sure that your articles and content are engaging and helpful.

One of the best tips that I can give you about Squidoo is to use a lot of videos. Videos are easier to absorb and are more interactive. I have found on my own lenses that video keeps the visitors longer and makes more money.

Be sure to ping, tweet and bookmark each lens for maximum effect. The influx of visitors will boost your Squidoo ranking and help you get more comments and interaction from other members.

Follow the rules, play nice with others and you should do just fine with Squidoo. It really is a treasure for those who know how to use it.

Joshua Bardhashian uses Squidoo to make money online and is very successful at it. Watch his zombie flash games and airsoft mask sites to see how he creates content.

So its Monday Morning following a particularly heavy weekend, Boss says “can I have a word”!!! My response? Sure give me 5. My inner emotion is Oh no I’m going to have to concentrate way beyond my capabilities today.

He tells me that despite the obvious recession we have over achieved on budget and the funds for a “jolly” are now available to spend. He spent the summer, whilst we achieved budget, in Spain and would really like to take the top10 achievers to Mijas for the week. He thinks no hotels lets get personal and luxurious. Easy for him to say.
Now this is where I have an obvious problem, I thought Mijas was a bathing product not an actual place. Now I have the task of organising “that week”.

27 espressos later and some serious web searching for mijas apartments, mijas accommodation I find the Rentin site I’m I luck !!

In the spirit of sharing I think I should tell you a little about the NON bathing product, it is one of the most famous pueblos blancos (white villages) and is set amidst pine forests and lush vegetation.  A municipality having 3 areas of population, one of these is a classic whitewashed Andalusian village of Moorish origin that contains the monuments and the administrative centre.

Mijas has outstanding views over Fuengirola and the Mediterranean Sea. The area has over the years become a favourite with artists and the narrow streets are filled with ceramics and craft shops and as well as cafes, bars and restaurants.

So back to my challenge, Mijas apartments found, car hire sorted and all done with a severe headache. No challenge required and I get promoted RESULT thanks to Rentin Mijas. Not sure if they can help with next year’s budget but I will be asking.

CAUTION: Facebook Spoof eMails – Happy Holidays NOT

I get to see every flavor of spam possible as a web developer that has developed, implemented, managed and supported over 100 active websites. I won’t bore you with the nitty gritty details about spam, but if you saw the movie Forrest Gump, Bubba started a list of all the ways he knew to prepare shrimp… my list is that long about spam and I am from the South. Imagine that.

Lately the worst offenders have been the Facebook Spoof emails, as they look identical to the email notifications from Facebook. There’s a ‘Happy Holiday’ Facebook spoof that puts a virus on your computer and also infects your Facebook page. Even though you love and adore Facebook, don’t open the emails! Use caution when it comes to networking sites. Here is a list of the email cautions I use. Please add your best practice to the comments…

Keith Farrazzi – How Do I Start Networking?

If you get a chance to see Keith Farrazzi, the popular author of ‘Never Eat Alone’ at a live presentation…GO! He’s just like he is in this short 2 minute video, passionate and animated. He has some great point about being involved in place where you will shine…your passion comes in at this point… He never mentioned any formal business networking events… and that’s an important detail. Business networking events are fun, but you can connect anywhere! You can make connections outside of your referral group or chamber mixer. Think of the possibilities! Starbucks maybe the place where your next big business connection is standing right next to you!

Create a Memory

by Dale Furtwengler

Offering a referral or resource to a person you’ve met at networking events, well nothing creates a memory better than that. But a memory of what? Certainly your generosity and kindness, but will that help you generate more referrals? You need to clearly communicate who your ideal client is. There are several mistakes that I see people make when introducing themselves at networking events: 1. They speak about what they do.

2. They don talk about what advantages their clients receive in working with them.

3. They use demographics to identify their ideal client.

I’m not going to spend much time on numbers one and two. It’s hard to stay awake when someone’s rambling commentary is all about them. How Boring! The third mistake, however, is less obvious.
